Let’s meet Leslie & Jessica:
How long have you been a Cole’s Clique elite member?
We (there are two of us-Jessica and I) have been a members of Cole’s Clique since February.
What skills have you improved on the most since joining the Clique?
This could be a long list, but a big one is looking at light differently. We always had the mindset of keeping the subject in the shade and have a pretty background. Now we know it’s more important to look for even light because it produces more appealing images all around.
What is your favorite aspect of being a Clique member?
We love learning, and there is always something new to learn from the webinars or the other Clique members in the Facebook group. It is such a positive group of people that are always willing to help. It’s also easy to get comfortable with what you are doing and how you are doing it. Sometimes you need a different perspective to realize you need to change or refresh the way you are doing things.
What is your favorite subject to photograph?
This is a tough one. We are probably best known for our family images, but weddings are our favorite to photograph.
What do you want your viewers to take away from your photography work?
We want them to feel the genuine emotion in the images.
If you had the opportunity to travel the world and could only bring one lens which lens would you choose?
Leslie – Hands down the 70-200mm f/2.8, this has always been my favorite lens. Jessica – Canon 50mm f/1.4.
What inspires you?
As cheesy as it may sound, love and relationships are what inspire us. There is nothing like getting to photograph beautiful moments in people’s lives. Whether it is a child being born, a family that wants to hold on to these moments when their children are young, or a couple starting the rest of their lives together, you are providing them with images that capture those memories forever.
